US-59 South to SH-35 South. Allow extra time during weekday rush hour leaving Houston.

From Corpus Christi
US-77 North, then SH-35 North through Tivoli and Port Lavaca toward Bay City.

From Austin / San Antonio
I-10 East, then SH-71 South to SH-35 South. Plan for the El Campo / Bay City stretch on two-lane state highway.
Lodging
Bay City has chain and locally-owned options clustered along Avenue F (Highway 35 Business) and 7th Street. All are within a 10-minute drive of the training location.

Full-service chain hotel with breakfast included. Closest interstate-tier option to the classroom.

Texas BBQ & smokehouses
Mike's Bar-B-Que House and K-Bob's Steakhouse cover the meat-and-three end of the menu, within a few minutes of the hotel cluster.
Coffee & breakfast
El Estilo Coffee, Mainstreet Café, and the usual chain breakfast options on Avenue F — open early for the first session of the day.
Gulf seafood
Outrigger's and a handful of local fish houses make use of Matagorda Bay shrimp and oysters in season.
Grab-and-go for lunch break
H-E-B, Subway, and a handful of taquerías within a five-minute drive — quick options for the lunch break between morning and afternoon sessions.
