How to read a course listing

Hours, prerequisites, regulatory framework.

01 · Contact hours

How TCEQ counts the credit

Texas counts continuing education in contact hours — not days or sessions. A 16-hour course covers a full TCEQ credit cycle's worth of instruction time. Confirm against your own renewal cycle in the TCEQ licensee portal.

02 · Prerequisites

Who the course is for

Most listings require an active TCEQ OSSF license — Maintenance Provider, Maintenance Technician, Installer I/II, Designated Representative, or Site Evaluator. The specific license types each course serves are listed in the catalog above.

03 · Regulatory framework

What the course is approved under

Every listing names the TCEQ chapter and subchapter under which the course is approved. This is the same citation TCEQ checks against during license renewal review.

Frequently asked

Before you register.

Will TCEQ recognize these hours?

Yes — every course on the catalog above is approved as continuing education for the license categories listed. We issue a completion certificate that documents your contact hours for TCEQ's records.

Do I need to bring my license number?

Yes. Your TCEQ license # appears on your completion certificate. Bring it to class — we never ask for, store, or process Social Security numbers.

What happens if I miss part of the class?

TCEQ requires full attendance for contact hours to be credited. Partial attendance is not credited — please schedule a later session if you can't commit to the full hours.

Can I get a refund if I can't attend?

Yes, with notice. Call (979) 557-3017 at least 72 hours before the scheduled class for a full refund or a transfer to a later date. Same-day cancellations forfeit the seat fee.

Do you teach private group sessions?

Yes — for crews of 6 or more, we can schedule a private session at our Bay City facility or at your location (within the Gulf Coast region). Call to discuss.

What's included in the course fee?

Instruction, course materials, the completion certificate, and TCEQ contact-hour documentation. Travel, lodging, and exam fees are separate.
